There are many qualities of Mother-of-Pearl.
The real article is no longer allowed to be brought into the USA as it is
an endangered species!
Many people sell what they call "Mother-of-Pearl" but which is actually another animal called Trocha. Trocha is similar to M-O-P but it does not have the "life" that M-O-P has. It is generally whiter with much less contrast in the luminescence.
We have had this Mother-of-Pearl in stock for at least 40 years, probably longer.
It is genuine.
