This piece is the result of a meteor hitting the earth. The sand around the area where the meteor hit fused together and created this stone, it is called officially 'Moldavite'. When people tell you that it is 'out of this world' they won't be far off!! The surface is what you see, the result of slowly cooling after impact, it is translucent as well. These are only found in an area of Europe called Moldavia, hence the name. One of a kind and not often do they come on the market available to the jewelry industry, most of the time they go to rock hounds who pay a lot more than we are asking. This is also a particularly big one, most are very small. Do not confuse with Kryptonite which looks exactly the same. Set in a hand made Sterling Silver Mounting. $285.00 the piece
