We call them 'popcorn beads', actually they are pretty little
trailing beads 12mm round. Pink spotting here and there on a perfectly white background, textured
surface make them look like painted popcorn. Japan, early 50's.
Green Swirlers from Japan 1949. Identical except of course for size. We have them BOTH in two sizes, 6mm and 8mm. Your choice of course, never let it be said the King offers no choice! These are basic lampwork beads, hence handmade. They vary a mite in the size by one tenth or so millimeter, nothing much noticeable. A lot of 12 pcs in the 6mm is $5, with a 2 dozen minimum, the 8mm is $7 per dozen with a 2 dozen minimum. So make your choice, and choose wisely, choose them both! ,BDVN075A=6mm Green, BDVN075B=8mm Green. Easy, when you know how!

Similar, but BIGGER than the smaller, these are also bulbous. Austrian also, size is 9x6mm....and they are sold in lots of 12 for $9.50. Order # BD-VN1333.
Larger version, 14mm X 11mm, just found them and there are not too many. Same specs as above, Sold in lots of 6 for $18. Order# BD-VN2005.
Similar to the Navy color ones, I do not think these came from the same era. Actually I found them more than a year apart, in vastly different sections of our bead caverns. Had they been from the same period, they would have been together in the inventory. Any way, the size is the same, 9mm, but the color, obviously, is different. Classic assortment of American Beads, even made in the USA in the early 50's, these were all together in one bin, White, Red and classic Navy Blue. Measure 8X6mm in a pentagonal shape. A lot can be done with these if you have the creative touch as they are not symmetrical and can be utilized to that advantage. Natural looking lump shaped glass beads from Japan, 1948. The exact color of Southwest turquoise, even vary in shape like the real article, they run about 10x16mm. In this color genuine turquoise nuggets are quite dear and scarce today. These are glass but even feel like turquoise as most professional turquoise feelers would tell you. Sold in lots of 6pcs for $10.50/lot. Order Item #BD-VN1362.

Although it does not show up in the photo, these old Japanese (1947) beads have a slight AB finish on them. They are rather long, 17mmx9mm, and are actually a triangular twisted bead, totally transluscent, along the cyan-green coloration. Sold in lots of 6 for $13.50 Order Item# BDS-VN1805A.
